On some of the chats we have discussed Warren Zevon and his struggle with lung cancer. He passed away yesterday, several months longer than his doctors expected. The VH1 special a couple of weeks ago showed him making his final album, I couldn't stop the tears then, and as I write this they are flowing again.

Thanks for the link EllanoiZe. I heard the sad news on the radio yesterday.
That Rock and Roll Heaven Band will have a unique new sound now. He was indeed a very cool guy!

I just found out we lost two more celebrities, John Ritter of a heart attack and an American Icon Johnny Cash. When i was growing up I remember the Johnny Cash TV show, it was my first experince seeing performers like Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, Derek & the Dominos, Creedence, Niel Young, Janis Joplin, And many more. I never concider Johnny country, I think the man in black was Americas first punk. I will miss him, but his music will live on .

Hi Ellanoize,
Another sad morning.
Johnny Cash and John Ritter having passed on. Totally unexpected in JR's case too. He was only 54!
June Carter Cash died earlier this year and someone said "Johnny died of a broken heart."
Thanks for the link!

Rest in peace gentlemen.

There is a saying that celebrities die in groups of three. Singer/songwriter Elliott Smith Died Of self inflicted knife wounds Tuesday. I have a compilation Cd with a couple of his songs , I really liked his style. He was only 34 years old.
