Cherie is in the house
in a jett black blouse
and her cowgirl boots
for a photo shoot
so I'd better quit fumbling around
gotta get a grip if one can be found
the chance of a lifetime's here
and I can't seem to get my camera in gear!

with a single red rose
and that unforgettable smile
she's been waiting for a while though
so I gotta catch this moment in time
but I keep dropping things that don't even rhyme
and I'm tripping over my own feet
it's just something about her being oh so sweet!

This is a dream though so why's my camera shakin'
I'm missing shots that I should be takin'
just like I'd do if I was awake and
she was really here, for heaven's sake and
so I guess the truth is plain to see
that even in my reverie
she has the same effect on me
her ever-rhymin' fan GD!


<font size=1>On 5-3-02 I posted this little ditty. A few hours later hostboard went down and stayed down until 5-19-02. It was the longest 2 weeks ever and when hostboard finally came back up several topics had been totally lost.
There had been about 20 views and only one reply to my topic. It was Cherie herself and she said this poem made her smile! That made my day, for sure, just before the big crash!
I sort of felt that re-posting it, after the fact, would have been a bit presumptuous on my part, since Cherie had already smiled and all, so I just filed it away.
Gosh dang it though, today I'm throwing caution to the wind and posting it again.
