Hey Gus, I gotta admit I admire Ray Davies also. Anyone who had a relationship with Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders (whose favorite memorable quote was "I'd like Clint Eastwood to beat me up")gets two thumbs up in my book!

Aaaay...what's up Doc? I've been listening to 4 songs I downloaded from the web by a 70's sci-fi/glam band from Los Angeles called Zolar X. These tracks are from their forthcoming CD on Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles label. The songs were recorded between 1974-1980 by the band, but never had a real release...until now. It's great stuff that anyone who likes their music fun and rockin' should check out. The band also has their own website... http://www.geocities.com/zolarx1/

Been listening to the the Animals and Suzi Quatro's CD "Suzi and other four letter words" for the last couple of days. I think maybe I should by some new stuff. Most of my collection's starting to look like Ronco's Best of the 70's. Ouch

Animals eh? I have a great Animals collection. Eric, Alan and Hilton's solo stuff too! One of the greatest of the British invasion groups, IMO.
Now that I'm thinking about them I think I'll listen to 'LOVE IS.' I love Andy Summers guitar work on this lp!

I love the WAR years! 'Eric Burdon Declares WAR' is a great 1970 album. Spill The Wine is one of my all time favorite songs! The follow up lp 'Black Man's Burdon' was also released in 1970. They went their seperate ways in mid-71 though.
Another album was released about five years later. It's called 'Love Is All Around' and is 6 unreleased tracks discovered in the vaults of Far Out Productions. My favorite is 'A Day In The Life' //oo\\ which is so cool!
I love it when one of my favorites cover Lennon and boy does he cover it!
I read a great review once where Eric is referred to as the greatest Blues singer in England, ever. Sounds right to me!
He's got a gift for sure!
