Oh, this is just too weird! My album has the 35-track songlist & cover art from April '74 "History Of The Bonzo's" (with the little doggy blowing on a harmonica), but The title is "B-eastiality Of...". It's a 3LP foldout with several pages of notes & photos inside (maybe it was a variant?). I also have the Rhino '90 re-release of B-eastiality on CD, mail-ordered it hoping for CD-quality copies of all the same music, but some of the best tracks were trimmed out.

"Beast Of The Bonzo's"? I've got the original foldout 3 LP set called "The B-eastiality Of..." floating around here somewhere, same album?
(Oops, swear-filter...)

My Cd player (and even my dusty old cassette player) have been getting a work out this week.
1) Rodney Crowell - Fates Right Hand. This is about the best new Cd that I have bought in a long time. Rodney is the late Johnny Cash's ex son in law and a true poet. These lyrics are so image strong it kinda reminds me of a mid career Bob Dylan. I guess his style of music would be classified as Americana or Alt-Country, But I would recommend this disc.
2)Gus Danger - Songs From DangervilleThis four song demo cassette, Featuring our own Mr Danger on guitar and vocals highlight his songwriting abilities. I was really impressed by two songs. First being Tin Pan Ally Cat, It has a real Dylan feel to it because of the meter of Gus's singing. Gus's lyrics, paint a very expressive picture in the listeners mind's eye.
The second song in my opinion would fit in with modern radio play. Part of the Lyrics have been posted here on the Hostboard a while back. The Song "Jenesaisquoi" reminds me of some long forgotten Lennon demo. It also features some inspired kazoo playing. This is a very enjoyable example of independent singer/songwriter demos, I look forward to hearing more in the future.
3) Coatl - S/t This 6 song ep from this Southern California 4 piece band that features hostboard member Alma Rockstar on vocals and guitar is a little on the darker side, but I have really enjoyed it so far. My Spanish is very poor so I am missing out on the lyrics. I like the lead off Song "Flores de Muerto". It reminds me of a little heavier version of Nick Cave & Bad Seeds. Its really a contradiction in styles, Its dark, yet lite, Its heavy yet its not. Alma has a strong vocal ability and rest of the band Eddie, Israel and Jerry have a unique chance to fill a void in the growing Latino rock market. They seem to have made a mark for themselves in California, and I think it won't be long for them to expand thier horizons. It would not surprise me to see Coatl on MTV espanol or VHUno

Hi Roger,
You have a great knack as a music reviewer! I was hoping to hear Alma's band soon, myself, and your review makes me even more anxious to do so!
Is Rodney Crowell married to Rosanne Cash? I'm totally unfamiliar with him but I'll keep my ears peeled, now, 4 sure!
Dylan and Lennon were my biggest influences while I was growing up so thanks for the comparison!
I know I told you I'd send you that tape quite a while back so I'm sorry it took so long to get it to you.
Your kind words are inspiring me to write more. Could I get a kick in the rear end too, please?!?!
Some day I'll record my Cherie songs but I need some new equipment in the worst way!
Sorry about the cassette tape but I still don't have the capability of putting my stuff on CDs. I'll send you some rockers when I get there!
Thanks again my friend!

I'm still listening to Texas Terri Bomb and thoroughly enjoying it!
It's great to hear Cherie rocking out on 'The Rocker' for sure!
I also have been enjoying Joan Jett's Fetish CD which I picked up last weekend. I especially like 'The French Song' a whole lot!
I also picked up one of several Yoko Ono remix projects called I Will/Fly and it's awesome! //oo\\
Fallen by Evanescence is still in my short stack too along with
Try This by Pink and
Sisters Of Avalon by Cyndi Lauper
Keep on ROCKIN' folks.....I know I will!!!

YOU got the Festus Hagen album?
How lucky can one dude from the bean field be?
How is the album Mr. Ella?
Old Ken Curtis was one of a kind for sure!
What does he say about Doc?
The love/hate relationship betwixt them two made for some great TV!
Festus had a way with words that has left me with a hankerin' to hear that there record for a passel of yesteryears!
I would loved to have had the chance to buy him a beer at the long branch.
