I thought I would start a cooking topic since the cooler weather is on the way. I love being in the house on a cold day making and baking tasty things. This is what we had tonite:
Beef Straganoff:
2lbs of Ground Beef or Chicken or Turkey
In the skillet, brown the meat
then drain the grease
Add in the skillet, meat, add 16oz of sour cream, add 2 cans of cream of Mushroom soup
Mix everything on a low flame
Pour over Egg Noddles
It's delicious
Dessert:
One of my old time favorites and it's sugar free and fat free Black_Cherry Jell-o
with /without Whipped Cream

I know I have to have just a smidgen of that whipped cream. ( Giggling )

Sounds good, but Ronnie will have to add an ingredient to your recipe. There's no wine in it.Hehehe She's our Norwegian Justin Wilson. "A li'l wine for the food-A li'l wine for me..."I tend to lean toward mediterannean fair when I tear up the kitchen. Could be cuz my relatives came over on the boat from Greece.

Tonite I have a birthday for one of my nieces to attend. This one just turned 8. I always bring something to all the party's so I decided to make the
Perfect Spinache Dip
2 Envelopes of Lipton Vegetable Soup Mix
1 16oz Sour Cream
2 Cups of Mayo ( H-el-lmann's really is the BEST )
2 Packages of thawed and squeezed dry chopped Spinache
Mix everything together and chill for a few hours
Serve with your favorite chips or veggies. You can also use a lite Mayo and a lite sour cream for this recipe too.
It's a and of course a delicious with fresh whipped cream. Yum...

Whipped cream, goes good with lots of stuff. We're getting into the chili season, so if you're an omnivore like us Farmboys, please post your fav recipe. I like spicy, hot stuff. Think I'm the only guy that uses Louisiana hot sauce on his jalepeno poppers. Best I ever did a chili contest was 2nd place. I'll keep trying.

I Love pineapple upside down cake, And I recently saw on a cooking show a recipe for Pineapple upside down biscuit.
1) 10 maraschino cherries, 1 cup Brown Sugar, can Crushed Pineapple(drained, save juice), 1/2 stick soften butter, Can biscuits
2)Mix sugar, butter, pineapple
3)Into a muffin pan, add a cherry into 10 holes, cover with a spoonful of pineapple/sugar mix (add a bit of water into any extra holes in muffin pan to prevent burning)
4) place a biscuit over each mixture, drizzling a spoonful of juice over each biscuit.
5)cook as directed on biscuit can
I would like to have a recipe for a Mexican rice for my fajitas

Here is one of my favs. I make these ALL the time. They are a huge hit!
Fudgey Cocoa No-Bake Treats
2 c. quick-cooking rolled oats
2/3 c. creamy or crunchy peanut butter (unless you are sharing with Larry or Char, then don?t use
the one with nuts)
? c. chopped peanuts (optional, see above note)
2 c. sugar
? c. (1 stick) butter or margarine
? c. milk
1/3 c. cocoa
2 tsp. Vanilla extract
First - Line a cookie sheet with wax paper or foil. Measure oats, peanut butter and peanuts; set aside.
Second - Combine sugar, butter, milk and cocoa in medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat,
stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a rolling boil.
Third - Remove from heat. Add oats, peanut butter, peanuts, and vanilla; stir quickly, mixing
well.
Fourth - Immediately drop mixture by heaping teaspoons onto the wax paper. Cool. Store in a
cool dry place.
