Ronnie, sit tight till about the last day, just to check the waters. There aren't any bids on it yet and it's been on for going on 3 days. I don't think anybody from the other sites knows it's out there. I'll stay out and let ya go for it. I'm more of a diehard JoanJetter anyway. Just picked up another single this morning. Lord knows I needed it. It's a Canadian import of Summertime Blues by Joan somewhere around 1984. I had one copy, but not the import.

Funny you should mention about the book. I wrote a profile essay on her a couple years ago, but there are no books, nor any plans for one on Joanie in near future that I'm aware. We banged that one around a little bit on JJ's site awhile ago. Whoever writes it would have to be someone that's been pretty close to her since the mid 70's. That'd been a fun side project for Cherie. She's known her since the early days and they still keep in touch. Oh, Cherie C., how's the writing hand workin' these days ?

Just a quickie note on some JJ trivia. She was so broke when she got back to the states from England, the story goes she slept in hotel lobbies and posed as a maid to swipe food from the room service trays so she had something decent to eat. I pretty sure the story has some basis of fact.

You can read the majority of its contents on the Jettstream. It's posted there. I'll get the link for ya. I had to delete portions of it from the original for space constraints. Be right back with the link. You'll hafta sign in as a member to read it. Excerpts were published in the NY Times. I'll tell ya how I met Joanie someday. It was before the fame and fortune. She's such a sweetie. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I 'spose you're gonna want a signed copy of the **** *d thing. On this last note-like B-flat...
I'll leave y'all with one of my humorous poetic ditties...
A Rocker's Lament
Prepackaged and plastic, bore us to death
Just one more pop queen to fill one that left
Yeah, tight pants and halter to make 'em look nice
On any street corner-they'd be hounded by vice
So bring on the lip-syc in dead mic or two
When the tape breaks backstage, we'll know it was you
Walk off the stage with pout on your lips
No talent that I see-just latex wrapped hips
Put me to sleep with love song or two
Can't wait for another to snore right on through
Where do they come from ? These divas of pop
Of one thing I'm certain-they sure don't know rock
If granted one wish 'fore life comes to end
Follow my words 'cuz this chick's no trend
For rock and roll lives when she steps on set
Breathes fire from six strings-her name is Joan Jett.
Happy Trails to you-till we meet again. 'Nite people

And I still believe that Cherie would be the best author for a biography on Joanie. They're kinda like two peas from the same pod.
