Don't be sorry at all, you have the right to your opinion, I just wanted to add mine. Believe me, the last few days I've gone through the gamut between sadness, rage, disbelief, numbness and back through again.
I do wish the media would remember that domestic violence was involved. They're focusing so much on stuff that isn't proven yet that they aren't saying anything about the statistics involving domestic abusers who kill their wives or anything remotely related to it. Family violence just isn't as exciting I guess.

I have a lot of problems with Vince McMahon, but the District Attorney himself said they wouldn't have known at 7 Central that Chris was a murderer. They probably had the same reaction I did, which was, "Who would want to kill Chris Benoit and his family?" which was followed by thoughts that it might have been a gas leak, NEVER that he could have done it. Your first impulse is always to believe that the person you loved couldn't do something like this. I think the fact that as soon as more details came to light they pulled his merchandise, yanked the three hour show from international airings and removed practically all info about him except the news story from their website makes up for it. Could they have waited? Of course. But hindsight is always 20/20. Had it been proven that someone else had killed them, a lot of people would have complained if they hadn't aired that show. I believe they didn't know that much at the start and made a decision they might regret but I don't think should be held against them as anything more than a short-term decision that ended up biting them somewhat because one of their friends ended up being someone no one ever thought he could be.
Past that I hope Vince brings in some counselors like they maybe should have done after Eddie died.
At the end of the day, no matter what was going on with him, Chris Benoit was the one who decided not to get help and went way over the line. It's probably going to hurt to say that for a long time. I'm hoping the general concensus ends up being fair and truthful and that any problems within WWE that they CAN address (if any) will be addressed.
Personally I still can't grasp all of this. Benoit was my third favorite wrestler on the planet and my friend's son wanted to be just like him. Chris killed more than his family and it's going to take a long time for a lot of people to handle that.

The reason more athletes from other professions, such as football, baseball, basketball, etc., haven't done **** like is that they have team doctors and psychologists, who treat all of them on a regular basis. Maybe, Mr. Mcmahon (the real life person, not the character) will finally hire a complete full time medical staff, especially a psychologist.

You are right about that Cherie.
What a heartbreaking story. [img]graemlins/broken_heart.gif[/img]

I agree with frustrated. Any national and touring wrestling company should have at least one full time psychologist, preferably two or three that can actually go on tour with the groups. At LEAST someone who is there at all tv tapings and a phone call away in Stamford. In fact I think that along with cardio tests, each person, active wrestler or not, should see the psychologist regularly. It doesn't matter how good your heart is pumping if your head isn't right. Or vice versa.

I think our problem lies in that we see our heros for 10-15 minutes a week and we begin to believe we know them.
We can never take away what Chris did in the ring, But we have to realize that when he removed his boots & tights, there was a troubled soul that took pains to hide his & his families personal lives.
I have had a hard time dealing with this because I couldn't believe the original reports, How can a man that I respected, take the life of a child...Then I look at the news and I see it happening to anonyomus people everyday.
