    Hi, David, I realize this isn't a forum for politics, so if I'm raising a distasteful or inappropriate topic, I apologize in advance. Just wondering what your feelings or thoughts were/are now that this contentious election is over?
    Thanks,
    Ed

    We deserve everything we've gotten. It'll probably be a contentious 4 years. I don't see much changing...Maybe the supreme court, although they seem to have a direction of their own no matter what/who's appointed. Bush is just 'bush' and that's all there is to it. Kerry lost it, the Demo's again out of touch, Bush didn't win it. It's hard to kill America...damage it, yes, but we'll recover, it'll take more time then usual, but we will. The rest of the world is going to suffer and lose patience with our fortress mentality. That's the real issue and the parallel one is the ecology. We're behind the 'pale' when it comes to the environment and nature can only take so much before 'she' hits back.

    Yes, people get the government they deserve and even some people(like me) get the government they don't.
    Again it's the whole lesser of two evils dichotomy all over again.
    Both Kerry and Bush support and/or voted for the "Patriot Act".
    Both candidates support and/or voted for the war.

    So the question then becomes, which would you rather have?
    (As a friend of mine put it)
    A guy who walks into a Hell's Angels' bar and starts pissing on people's shoes;
    should he
    A) Be a skinny, scrawny, and indecisive guy
    or
    B) A not-so-smart cowboy who's armed to the teeth.

    My personal opinion:
    The one good thing about a Bush victory is the assurance that this system(if I can call it such) will crumble all the more faster; which would be a necessary and good thing.

    I'm just happy Tiny Tommy Daschle(Dashhole) lost.
