Can't Hollywood come up with their own ideas instead of dipping into the original classics. Remakes usually just end up being a dragging comparison to the original. Hello people, look at "Dawn Of The Dead". Do I have to say anymore. Also kids today wouldn't know a good horror movie if it hit them in the face.

I'll agree heartily that most remakes should give you a reacharound for the assfucking ticket-price paid, when compared to the originals. But some can sometimes equal the original, if only in a different directorial view.
Dawn ot Dead was a pretty good example of a successful remake. As was Tom Savini's 90's remake of Night ot Living Dead. John Carpenter actually surpassed the original "Thing From Another Planet" when he made The Thing. Spielbergs War of The Worlds was a LOT closer to the HG Wells novel than the original George Pal version was, therefore better.
But then, this is the Summer of remakes.... Dukes of Hazzard, Herbie, Bewitched, crap I wouldn't waste-time watching if released free on Network TV tomorrow.
OMG!!
Someone actually LIKED House On Haunted Hill..?
ROTFL!
Well, maybe he got a "reacharound", Reved.
Hey, did anyone see Constantine?
I'm watching it for the third time right now. Saw in the theater and now I rented it on my Blockbuster mail order subscription. I love this movie. (Disappointed there's no commentary on this edition.) I know you guys are more hardcore horror than me, as I'm more a sci-fi fan, but this movie has it's gnarly elements and it's a great story very well told.
Normally I can't watch Keanu Reeves, but in this movie he's actually great. (A dark character without any surfer in him at all.) So anyways, highly recommended.
P.S. to Reved, should we resurrect our movie discussions here rather than Kevin's board?
1 vote yea! Do that'n if ya want me ya got me!
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Sure it was. LOL However I will have to say that the remake of House on Haunted Hill was awesome. I am a huge fan of the original, but I thought that the remake was great! Very well done. So not all remakes are crap.Originally posted by PunkY...:

I'd like to resume those old "MOVIE CHAT: Title" threads, But I'll only be around for another couple of days. Then I'm off to a trucking company. No telling when I'll get to watch a movie, much less when I'll get to a computer to talk about it!
I'll prolly get one 'o those cheapo disposable Dell laptops to write everything & upload ence every great while from a chicken-shack stop.

PS to Rocky - I sent you that terrible "Godmonster of Indian Flats" movie, didn't I?
My second-take on that movie would include a belief about 30-minutes of the movie was cut. Both the inner-town corruption (that racist angle between townsfolk & the black investor never really came to any conclusion) AND the godmonster! (The big Muppet actually had a very tiny part in the movie).
