Miami Hurricane basketball

Dumped Maryland last week. Dumping North Carolina now in Chapel Hill. Diaz is a baller. No doubt UNC is going to be solid in the next few years. Historic win for the Canes. First win ever at Chapel Hill. Miami is finally healthy. When UNC needed them most the Tar Heel fans stayed silent while Miami built their lead-disgusting I'm not a Heel fan, but that was a buncha crap guys.

WOW. Hansbrough still went for 25 too--that's impressive. Him and Terry need a supporting cast in order to get some wins in the ACC...they were the only 2 in double digit scoring today...AT HOME.

Diaz & Hite both had 24 apiece for Miami--lots of Hite's (and Hansbrough's for that matter) points came from the free throw line.

Just like I tell Miami Alum's who flame me for liking Duke basketball--Frank Haith is putting Miami basketball on the map and has them going in the right direction to be a perennial contender in the ACC--just has to keep up the recruiting. Haith's style of play is just a little more up-tempo than Coach K's...but they are very similar in style.

ESPN said Miami finally had the recruiting class that they were looking for. I followed them a bit in early 80's but they shut down their program, and I started following Virginia. I'll have to keep an eye on them a little more.

They got Jesus Verdejo as a transfer from Arizona. I believe he will be there next year. Verdejo is an excellent shooter, Lute didnt like him because he doesnt play defense but he and Diaz were on the same team in HS so they will make a good combo. Verdejo also was a golden gloves boxing champ and could probably whip anybody on the football team's ass.
