BOMBERS

Damon, Jeter, AROD, SHEFF, GODZILLA, Giambi, Bernie, Posada, and Cano

I dunno bout you guys, but that could be the starting line up for the AL all stars. Me and Vince was sittin here thinking about how bad we would hate to be Oakland right now, poor ole Zito got shelled. Better get use to it American League.

Re: BOMBERS

Bernie needs to hang em up.

I just posted a huge Braves post, so I will compare the lineups (all my opinion).

Position-Player-ADV

CF: Damon-NYY, Jones-ATL-ATL
LF: Matsui-NYY, rotataion-ATL-NYY
RF: Sheff-NYY, Francouer-ATL-NYY
1B: Giambi-NYY, LaRoche-ATL-NYY (but close)
2B: Cano-NYY, Giles-ATL-ATL
SS: Jeter-NYY, Renteria-ATL-EVEN (from offensive standpoint)
3B: A-Rod-NYY, C. Jones-ATL-NYY

Pitching-Player-ADV

Johnson-NYY, Hudson,ATL-Johnson, by a hair.
Mussina-NYY, Smoltz-ATL-Smoltz
[censored]-NYY, Ramirez-ATL-Ramirez
Chacon-NYY, Sosa-ATL-Toss up
Small?correct me if im wrong-NYY, Davies-ATL-NYY

Closer-NYY by a large margian.

They always have a lineup like that, but they always seem to find a way to choke.

They may have a great lineup, but I'm still not confident in the pitching.

I am gonna go out on a limb and call this the curse of Canseco. Ever since they got rid of him in 2000 they have yet to win a world series. He brought alot to that team hittin 6 dingers and a .243 avg.

My call to win the AL East this year is the Blue Jays. I'm a Reds fan first, then a Red Sox fan 2nd, but the Blue Jays have that division on lock, IMO as long as they stay healthy.

Why you ask? Consistency people--that's why. The Blue Jays don't have a ton of top tier stars on their team, but they have consistent & steadily productive ballplayers--plus they have a lot more youth than either the Sawx or the Yanks. That youth could be a hinderance early, sure--but once these guys gel...they could be one of the most offensively efficient teams in the majors and definitely one of the top 2 or 3 defensive teams in the majors as well. They've got guys that if they had bigger names that'd be gold glove candidates all over the place. They've got an ex Cy Young winner in Halladay, and lots of young talent (Burnett, Chacin, & Towers) in the roatation w/him & Ted Lilly's experience. BJ Ryan ties it all together and should top 40 saves this year...and will rival Mariano Rivera's numbers all around--mark it down. Their main weakness is middle relief, where the only proven guys are Scott Schoeneweis, Jason Frasor, & Justin Speier--talented, but unproven except for Schoenweis who was a solid middle relief guy for the Angels when they won the WS in 2002.

Give me the Sawx as the wild card and the great Yanks on the outside looking in due to age & inconsistency. They're due a few big injuries too. Also, give me the White Sox & Blue Jays in the ALCS...that's my call early...and I reserve the right to change my mind...

I'd have to pick against the Yanks, anytime, just to have something to argue with my Grandfather , you and my son, about. We buried Grandad with his pin-striped hat tucked in a corner.

my grandmother told me that when she was little there was this lady who ran the local store and she was the only one around that had a TV and all the lady would watch were the Yanks, and if you came in the store and bad mouthed them she wouldn't let you buy anything and would make you leave.
