Lot of rumours going around right now in regards to Maryland Basketball. Of all of them including the DJ and EI to the NBA Gist leaving is the only one that concerns me. I hope it's not true but many Terp fans are real nervous about it.
what are you hearin about Gist transferring out to George Washington?

Everything that I know from talking to people and reading I dont think he's going. If he didn't have to sit out a year I'd say he'd probably go, also many people seem to think that Hobbes is going to jump ship at GW for a better job. Maryland Basketball is in a mess and are only bringing in one real player imo and thats Vasquez. Hayes could be solid in a few years, but I dont see him making an impact as a freshman. Also, all of Maryland's Seniors from last season dropped out of school to try to work on a NBA career meaning that they will not graduate and this will count against Maryland in the new NCAA Graduation Requirments.

Maryland, VT, George Washington and George Mason are playing in some "Classic" together as a double-header next year, it is VT v.s. George Washington and George Mason v.s. Maryland...should be a nice little set-up
id hope Gist stays, i want the ACC back at the top next year...you got the makings of a good future backcourt with Hayes, Milbourne and Vasquez...then you have Braxton Dupree coming in 2007 for the 4 spot, if you develop a big man you could be back to the Maryland of the late 90's early 2000's
also...did you follow Sean McCurdy? he was gonna wind up at Maryland but ultimately chose Arkansas where he played this year as a freshman...if you did, read the book "The Miracle of St. Anthony"...that book alone would be enough to not be sorry you didnt land the kid
