The system isn't that bad, but they need to come up with a different way to calculate out-of-state opponents power point ratings. Traveling up into Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia taking on weak teams that play other weak teams within their state need to be looked at more closely than the current system does. That's my biggest beef. I also think a school should have to play at least 7-8 regular season games against in-state competition. We've seen a few schools ducking across state lines to face the above mentioned weak competition, and it only hurts schools that are facing tougher in-state competition. Hell, if they (teams doing so) think that's fair - then districts should be disbanded and let everyone within Southwest Virginia have the same opportunity to play Betsy Layne, Letcher County Central, Beckley Christian, Unaka, Montcalm, Big Creek, Tug Valley, etc., etc.

A lot of that should change with next years scheduling from what I hear. I believe WV and KY are changing when their seasons will start year after next, and it will throw off a lot of teams ability to schedule them because of 2 year contracts.
