If any teams move down via the Rye Cove rule there will be more balance in D1 as well
your right, not on the D1 level but on the D2 level there will be more balance

Cheering for Twin Springs is like cheering for the Taliban
Very true. Either way, Haysi may move down and that would definitely add some parity to D1.

Kelly's 98 team, 1-9, especially 8 of em, may have been the most brutal line up hitting wise I have ever seen, the pitching they had may have been the weakest of any state title team, ever. Especially at Kelly, when you can score 8 runs on them and lose 18-8, that shows you something.
That was a dang good team. The JJK/Castlewood regional semi was the best HS baseball game I have ever watched. Thad Patrick pitched a heckuva game for CW, and his defense done a great job playing behind him. Had Spenilla not hit one that was uncatchable, we may have seen an upset that night, but I doubt it.

Absolutely agree. That game was the best high school baseball game that I have ever seen. To hold the lineup we had that year to 1 was unthinkable, but that feller had us off-stride all night.

lol.
Pack it up everyone else.
GC is the team to beat, they have been and will be until someone knocks them off.
JJK, GC, Burton, Coeburn and PV will all field teams that will be viaing for the top spots.
That was the best game I was ever involved in as well. And you're right, our defense was amazing that night. We made EVERY routine play and a couple of basehits got taken away. I had just started fooling around with a cutter/slider a couple Weeks before that game and it complimented my fastball very well. Plus the one "big league" pitch I had was my curve. Just a great night for my stuff. 8 K's & 3 hits if I remember right. Ole Josh ruined for me though with that opposite field dinger. I still give him hell about it to this day. I mean a state title ring is eternal, very special stuff. I think what helped alot was that I pitched 3 innings the day before against Haysi until we got a good lead, so my arm wasn't so amped the next day vs. Kelly. It was fluid and relaxed. Forrest Belcher had the other 2 hits I believe. I still have nightmares about getting our first 2 guys on in bottom of 7th and not scoring though. GREAT GAME TO BE INVOLVED IN THOUGH. Kelly just dominat the next 4 games too. They were a fine team.
