Re: With the first pick in the 2007 draft....

the Lions have to start looking for a QB by 12:40 today if they want to make this pick payoff.

I would give 4 draft picks away if he could have been a Steeler. Johnson and Ward would have made a great pair along with Miller at the TE position and Parker in the backfield. They could open up some passing lanes and keep the D honest from stacking the run.

    Oh well.

Teams have done that before...remember the 49ers and J.J. Stokes? Or the Saints and Ricky Williams..I think when a team trades their whole draft basically for one player...even for just a year, it hails the upcoming downfall for that particular team.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....

WTF??...Browns select a tackle??..guess that will make Quinn a Buc or a Viking...I don't think he makes it far enough for the Dolphins. Tackles can be deceiving...dominate in college...but one you are in the NFL you are not blocking college players anymore.

but the Steelers are much better shape than the Saints were. They wanted to build their team with Williams, the Steelers just up their level.

Yeah..that's true...but the 49ers were strong when they traded thier picks for stokes...another comes to mind...the Bucs for Gruden...paid off for a year..but look at em now.

Bucs do not need to pick a QB, Simms isnt bad.. They should pick Dwayne Jarrett..

very true. I wasn't sure where the 49ers were when that did that.

Re: With the first pick in the 2007 draft....

Kitna will get them the ball, he threw for 4000 yards last year, they just gotta block better for him. Remember, Martz has never had a highly drafted QB. Green, Warner, Bulger, the kid from Harvard, all castoffs in a way.

CJ could be traded for Adams and 2 #2s to TB or Brian Kelly.

As for the cardinals at pick five now, I think they will go with either Levi Brown or trade down to let the fish get Quinn and move back to 9 or let Buffalo get AP and move back to 12 and take Brown or Staley there now.

If the cardinals play this one straight up, the redskins will have a trade partner at 6 in much the same way. Something Chicago was looking for so they could trade Briggs to the skins for pick 6. Unfortuantely the bears never found a trade partner for 6 so they didnt do it.
