    Re: Norton/GC

Didn't see any bad calls tonight .. actually one of the better officiated games I've seen this year.

The injuries are what hurt and are HURTING Burton most though. You just can't expect to lose so many key players and remain a solid team.

Well I hope over the next 2 weeks Burton can get some healed up for the playoffs. Hate to see anyone injured.

i hate to see any kid hurt as well we know that very well when our blue devils were so beaten up with injuries last yr and jumbo was going for 2 instead of kicking extra points. i guess he wanted those 51 point that bad .At least nick pulled his starters instead of trying score on that last drive

You have a valid point there...last year GC has Tihlee still suffering from the hit he took from Murphy..and Parks was virtually crippled by the end of the year. But, what comes around goes around i reckon.

I do not think Jimbo ran up the score, We averaged 44 points a game last year....that was an average game basically

Parks didn't even get to play the last four games of the season.

I know it. GC was basically playng their 2nd string of backs vs JIB last year...they were decimated even before that game started.

    Re: Norton/GC

Running up the score is an interesting concept. I remember when GC put 73 up on Coeburn, but nobody considered that as running up the score. I too give props to a GC team that exected its ofense to perfection. They deserved to win. That being said, if all that GC could put up was 33 points against a team that had four defensive starters out, and one score came from their defense, they really need to do a little more work on their offense. Parks is a great back, but you can't count on your opponent to have starting lbs out or to turn over the ball four times inside your 40 yard line. Good luck to all teams in the playoffs.

I guess you're right.. what goes around comes around, lol.

Last year it was GC hurt by injuries (and playing plenty of 2nd stringers), and this year it's Burton in the same situation.

Very interesting to say the least. I really never even imagined anything like this would happen to Burton by the end of the season.. losing one or two key guys is usually not too uncommon, but to lose like 4-5+ ? Especially with a team size of only about 20-30-some? WOW.

Gate City has their share of injuries too. Hope everyone gets well for both teams!!
