Had heard that Barnett was out, but not why. Too bad, he was a regular on an old catch wrestling forum that I helped moderate and always seems super pleasant and helpful towards everyone.

This is at least his second failed test as I remember. Really sucks because I like the guy so much on a personal level. Catch wrestling legend Billy Robinson has been working with Barnett off and on for several years, he also coached Sakuraba, I wonder what the old man thinks about this?

The bald guy helping Robinson teach is my old buddy Jake Shannon.

Robinson is maybe the last of the truly great catch masters. I'm afraid far too much knowledge may soon be lost forever.

One of the early masters of this incredible submission art was Frank Gotch of Humboldt Iowa, which is where I got my screen name and also where former olympic wrestler Karl Istaz got his "stage-name" Karl Gotch when he entered pro wrestling.

Another one. At the end of this one Jake shows the true keylock, a hold that I first introduced him to.

That keylock was tight. When put on correct you feel it before any pressure is put on.

Gotch you going to the fights at the expo? Talked to Booby over the weekend, think I may start back on Wed. nights. That is the only free time I have now.

Not going to the fights at the expo or any other fights in Ky. nothing against Eddie who is a great guy, it's about the commission. As long as that bunch a dunderheads are running things I will not attend, may as well have the the JCA (Just Clowning Around / clown organization) running the shows.

Hope you do get started back.

Off subject, what schools yearbooks were you interested in?

Here is one of only a handful of other still living catch masters, **** Cardinal. He is showing the West Point Ride, a hold taught in the old days of West Point wrestling by their long-time coach Tom Jenkins, a man who had a long a bitter feud with none other than Frank Gotch. One of their matches turned so brutal that nearly everyone at ringside, including most of the sportswriters, got up and left.

Here is Richard (filter won't allow his name) Cardinal showing the very rare hold, btw the guy he is doing this too ended up with several cracked ribs.

One more. This is an interview with Frankie Cain. A carny shooter, that's a carnival wrestler who took on "all comers". Frankie is an underground legend in the fight game. Later did a lot of worked pro wrestling, great story teller, a true legend. These guys are leaving us fast. It breaks my heart.

Frnkie served as what amounted to personal bodyguard for Joe Louis at one time. Some of his best stories come from that era.
