But Rice made both of em look good enough for SF to get something out of both of em...the same way he made Young look twice as good as he actually was.

I didn't do much checking, but I already found this. Lost to the Rams in 88, 90. You might want to check your facts again.
As far as the Steve Young thing goes...from 1991-1996 he threw 140 TD passes...75 went to Jerry Rice. As I said earlier...without Rice, Young is just another QB.
Flipper Anderson was the man with the Rams, and they Dickerson and Everett for part of that. THey made the playoffs quite often I think, but their defenses sucked.
And the Cowboys SB teams would have owned the 9ers SB teams. Heck the 9ers last SB team barely beat a Barry Switzer coached team. Enough said.
oh damn he comes the cowgirls
ill take the 89 niners over any Cowboy team
who [censored] cares?...thats almost 20 years ago
talk about todays 49ers and todays cowboys

That isn't very respectful.
I dont play for either, so I dont have to be.
Dickerson left the Rams in 87...and IMO the 89-90 era niners are prolly the most complete team I've ever seen.
The NFC East might also be one of the best divisions in football. They put three teams in the playoffs last year.
Steve Young = Overrated.
And any niners sb team vs. any cowboys sb team?
Seriously, they need to change it from "no child left behind" to "one child left behind".
Because that is the most rediculous thing i have ever heard.
I'd take either SF team from the 88 or 89 and put em up against any other superbowl team....you know I'm not a niners fan, but as I said earlier, those 2 teams were the most complete I've ever seen....Including all the Cowboys teams, the 85 bears..all of em.
I love this!!!
I think the Colts will be alright but I don't see them winning the AFC south! I believe Tennessee and the Jags are the too overall better teams in the South!
Peyton is great but MH is getting old and thats going to catch up with him! I see the Colts winning 9 or 10 games this year!
no way the titans are better than the colts, regard of how old MH is
The 89 team barely won the Super Bowl and the 92 or 93 Cowboys offensive line may be the best ever assembled. Emmitt would have had a field day.
Raider what makes the Colts better then the Titans?
I would love to know! Lets compare!!!
Vince isn't Peyton with that being said I would give the edge to Peyton! The Running backs are about even, with Tennessee having more depth, edge Tennessee! WR core without a doubt goes to Indy! Tightends I would have to say are about even! I would take Tennessee O line! Tennessee will have the better D!
I see the Titans making the playoffs no matter what but if Vince steps up Tennessee will be one of the teams to watch!
I think not....Dallas played Buffalo...lol...the "89" niners team was actuall the 88 niners..the superbowl is in January and EA sports screwed up the way the teams were referred to after the 1st madden game with classic teams..
The O-line is better? guess thats why Vince has to run more than the RB
If you all wanna talk past I would love to see them teams play the 99 and 2000 Rams! I'm not saying the Rams would win but I swear thats the best offense i've ever seen!

Well he runs and thats apart of his game! If VY didn't run then I would think something is wrong! But Tennessee has a great run blocking line and a very solid pass blocking one too!
Sorry but their defense and offense is not better than Indy
Wow you must have missed the 2007 football season!

I believe Tennessee is ahead of the Colts in both overall D and run stopping D! As for the line well you can believe what you want friend but If you ever watched a Tennessee game or ever read any NFL news Tennessee has the better O-line everyone says it!
I dont know what the hell that is?
As I said I'd take either but the 89 team was statistically the best

Why are the Titans being mentioned so much in this thread?
They are the third best team in their division, if that.....

The Bengals team had a good O, but not a great D IMO that the Niners barely beat. Stepnoski, Newton, Williams, Gogan and Tuinea (sp) would have road grated hwys for Emmitt against the Niners. They relied on LBs and Charles Haley to make plays up front and Lott to save them deep. Heck Woods and Brooks ran the ball decent if I remember correctly that Super Bowl, and they weren't have the back Emmitt was, nor did they have as good of a line.
Both had HoF QBs. Dallas had the better backfield. Both had great receivers, both wide and at TE. Dallas's D and special teams were better IMO.
I would have to agree with you there stripes..
I am a bit biased though...
But I think those early 90s Dallas teams are definitely among the best ever...
QB, RB, WR are all in the HOF...That doesn't happen often..
haley played outside linebacker...the DL was holt, carter and fagan...other lbs were millen, walter and turner..romanowski saw quite a bit of action as well....#1 offense and #3 defense in the league....3rd against the rush...I saw all the cowboy teams you keep bringin up...and i'm sorry but they aren't close to those niners teams.

Since I can't stand either, I'd prefer not to. But since you brought it up I'll take a stab at it. I have nothing to say about today's niners. But today's cowboys = tony romo. You can't go anywhere in the playoffs if the QB's head isn't in the game. I'd love to know what he was thinking about when he botched the hold on that field goal. LMFAO!!!
he was thinking "damn I shouldnt have ate that popcorn" lol
lol Whatever it was, it wasn't what it was supposed to be.
With their coach it doesn't matter what Dallas puts on the field....he can't win a playoff game.
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Xknight52</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Well he runs and thats apart of his game! If VY didn't run then I would think something is wrong!</div></div>
Running may be part of VY's game, but a running QB will never win a SB. It might win ya a NCAA championship, but not a SB. A QB is supposed to stay in the pocket as much as possible. Throw the ball and if nobody is open run as a last resort. It's too easy for a running QB to get injured. VY has a real good arm and it's just wasted to run as much as he does.

I'm a long time Broncos fan. I know what kind of coach he was and is. LOL
Yep...the Raiders had quite a run vs. Denver while ol Wade was there....wish he would have stayed..
Along with many other teams. Thank God he didn't. lol
I'm a Raiders fan and Wade going to Denver was the best thing to happen for Oakland in a while at the time..lol...took some of the sting out of Bo breaking his hip a couple years earlier...
Them are the stats of the 2007 football season, on the D side of the ball. Tennessee was 9th in overall D and 1st against the rush!
While Indy was 12th last year in overall D and 8th against the rush! Even the stats say Tennessee has the better D
When Oakland was 2-14 they had a top 10 defense as well...that fluctuates from year to year. The thing with the Titans is the same thing that was wrong with Oakland that year...they had no WRs...and IMO that is what will do the Titans in this year as well...I think they win 7 or 8. I think it goes:
1-Jacksonville
2-Indy
3-Tennessee
4-Houston
I don't know all about that! Steve young was a good runner and a great passer!
