Thoughts on their upcoming season? Open up this Saturday with the exhibition against Milligan. Read that Scott Wagers is taking over the defensive coaching duties this season. We'll see if they can improve there. Looks like the freshman Sollazzo will start at point with Davis still out, and Hubbard (6' 4") is expected to start at center, should be interesting to how that works out. Along with Davis, Seth Coy is out with a stress fracture and Hamlin is having more problems with his knee. They held their scrimmage this past week. A lot of talk about the 'Bama transfer Justin Tubbs, who won the dunk competition, but of course he won't get to play this season. I remember reading an article in the KTN a while back where the coaches expected him to be one of the freshman to step up for them this season. He was named the MVP in game 2 of their Blue/Gold world series scrimmage earlier this month in a good pitching effort and had some contributions at the plate in the first and last game at least.
On the local side also, not sure how much he'll contribute, but seen that apparently former Tennessee High guard DeShaud Johnson walked-on to the basketball team from King.
