The only player they have on either side of the ball that shows up to play every week no matter what. Too bad his production depends on a piss poor oline, a beat up qb or two other stiffs, and not getting passes because of a bitchy ball dropping primadonna.

If you are going by the past few games then no, and 14 got them a win tonight didnt it? They are the 2nd or 3rd most penalized team in the league, that hurts.
QB with a brain? And he's lost what 8 games I think as a starter.
I believe they get the niners and the seahawks at home next. They will get healthy. Their offense is talented, but has zero identity or rhythym. They will hopefully find it in these next two games.
If talent was all that mattered, then the Chargers would be leading the AFC West by 3-4 games and the Titans would be .500 at best.
It's all about chemistry and being a team. When the Cowboys win, all is well. When they lose, there are certain elements that want to cast blame on everyone but themselves.
The Cowboys have two 'gimme' games left on the schedule (SF, Seattle), three possible W's (Philly, Pittsburgh, Baltimore) and one certain L (NY).
And yes, they need a QB with a brain. Romo has the tools, but Tony Eason made better decisions.
It isn't Romo's interceptions that bother me at all, it is his fumbles. Can't be a great QB when you fumble and throw INTs alot.
Watching Hard Knocks, it appears as though the Cowboys do have good chemistry. I put it on the coach and zero discipline. All of their penalties are a great example of that.

I saw that part of the game last night. The only thing he could have called- since the ball rolled out after he rolled over, was he didn't have the ball and when it hit hit him and stopped , he had slid into the endzone.
As far as the touchback, if ya noticed on the replay the guy that was laying on the goaline touched it once before he got to the goaline and once after he was laying there...it was a touchback. It's not college and a downed punt isn't dead until the official blows his whistle. So, IMO they got it right.
That sounds about how the guys on the radio were talking about. I still haven't seen the replay though.
do you have to control the ball to down it, or just make contact? And not hearing the whistle on the replay makes hard to judge, if that is what you have to look for to end the play.
Control to down it. If the team touches it, it is simply a spot of first touching. After first touching, if not controlled, the receiving team could pick the ball up and return it, and even if they fumbled the ball to the other team, could go back and take the ball at the spot of first touching.
I don't have a problem with the call on the touchback, the ball did touch him while he was on the goalline. If noone else had come in and touched the ball it would have been dead just by him touching it in the field and then rolling into the endzone without it, but when he threw it back it bounced off another player and into him in the endzone.
That should have been inconsequential to the game as Washington didn't make the adjustments needed at halftime to keep moving the ball on Dallas the way they did in the 1st half. I agree with what the announcers said they never went downfield in the passing game to soften the defense and give them more room to work on the short passes and running.
Seemed to me as if he was still traveling, sliding. Guy rolled over - well anyway, that would be about the only thing they could have called, not to spot it at the one.

The way you are talking about it being down, was what I thought the rule was. Saying he was still moving and he didn't stop the ball was the only thing I could see that would have been a touchback. I'm always curious when it comes to close calls and the exact rule. Ahh, if the Redskins will run the ball, I can live with them. Did anybody see the guy in the Redskin suit? I thought he looked like the guy on the ESPN show about the older teams, the ones with Riggins and the Hogs. If that fan has been wearing one of those suits since Riggo was the diesel, I have to give a vote for "Best fan in history."
The Hoggettes have been wearing their suits since then.
I became a fan when Joe Theisman was the man (before the horrifying leg injury). My Uncle was a Redskins fan and we watched the games together. He passed away of cancer when he was 20 and I was 12. I guess they have sentimental value, it's hard for me not to root for them.
