I added a personal shot at you at first and then realized you weren't talking to me. I edited as soon as I posted it and figued it out. I didn't think you or anyone else even had time to read it. If there's something that I left in that you took offense to, it wasn't meant to be that way.

If VT had Christian Ponder (the only decent ACC qb I could really think of, Harris is too young and inexperienced) they'd have at most 1 loss and could possibly be undefeated. VT needs to learn during recruiting season that qb's don't have to be 6' 190 lbs run 4.4's that should actually be taking passes from the slot or running the wildcat. It's ok to take a smart kid who can read defenses be about 6'2" or taller to see over those 6'8"+ OL and can at least complete 50% of his passes. Until they quit rolling those slot receivers out to play QB, they're boned. Taylor is a qb for Jackson State, for Hampton, for Grambling, not for a major D1 school who is competing for or winning a BCS conference every year.

    Re: Unc@vt

    Tyrod Taylor - 141 attempts...56% completion...9 TD, 3 INT...1300 yds

and for the top QBs in the SEC...

    Tim Tebow - 132 attempts...63% completion...8 TD, 4 INT...1100 yds

    Greg McElroy - 202 attempts...59% completion...9 TD, 3 INT...1400 yds

    Joe Cox - 209 attempts...57% completion...13 TD, 9 INT...1500 yds

    Jonathon Crompton - 213 attempts...57% completion...14 TD, 10 INT...1400 yds

    Jevan Snead - 194 attempts...52% completion...14 TD, 11 INT...1400 yds

now, it doesn't seem as though those numbers are "that bad"...VT runs the ball more than any non-option oriented offense in the nation...with numbers like that in this offense is pretty dang good

Ponder makes more good plays than bad. There are no elite qbs in the ACC. It's been a long time since they've had one, who was the last Rivers? Weinke? Wilson might play smarter, but he's far short on talent. I'd still take Ponder.

    Re: Unc@vt

there is no way VT runs more than alabama does, actually id say its pretty close, VT never passes either
and alabama has gotten carried away with throwing on 1st down

    edit
id take ponder and harris over all of em./

ive seen ponder win games by himself.
i watch fsu a lot, he is all they have on offense they can count on

You're looking to the SEC for offensive numbers is your first problem. You're trying to make him sound good by comparing him to Crompton, McElroy, and Cox is another. Almost half of Crompton's yardage has come in 2 games too (WKU and UGA). Tebow is a one man show in UF this year. No offensive threats at WR and I think they're suffering from losing Mullen and having their OL coach take over at OC. Just because Crompton has more TD passes and yardage than Tebow doesn't mean a **** thing. I'd take Tebow in a heartbeat. He has fewer td's and less yardage than anyone on that list including Taylor. #'s mean jack****.

    Re: Unc@vt

mcelroy hasnt thrown a TD pass in two games, he has been playing terrible. he is not a QB that bama is satisfied with at this point, he is capable of playing great, like he did at the beginning, but not right now, he will play good against LSU tho, mark it

the SEC is nowhere to compare to when talking about offensive numbers

    Re: Unc@vt

it is close wrt rushing...VT has rushed 322 times, Bama 319 times...though VT has had much less offensive possessions

the point with the SEC comparison is that is the conference that can do no wrong, and if Taylor's numbers are comparable, then by your own logic if Taylor sucks, they all suck...

then who exactly doesn't suck? like 3 QB's (McCoy, Pike,...?)?
