You're off a little on your stat lines....looks like you listed the OPPOSING QBs stats for Duke and GT.
DUKE: 17 of 22 for 327 yds, 2 TDs
GT: 10 of 14 for 159 yds 1 TD and 2 Int (one of which a DLineman batted it straight up in the air and the other a hail mary at the end of the 1st Half). Also had 63 rushing and 1 TD.
The kid has the tools to be a good QB, he just has crap for an OC and QB coach.
They hung with Florida and Alabama but outside of the SEC, losing to UCLA isn't much better than VT losing to UNC. Not a knock on the Vols.
Though that fumble really cost VT the game at the end, Tyrod Taylor really screwed himself over.
I'm not giving up on VT but I do know that they obviously will not go to the Orange Bowl. Lets hope they can win a bowl game even if it is a crappy bowl.
Lets not forget about the quality of defenses in the SEC vs. the ACC when comparing these QBs as well. Snead has the most upside of those listed in the SEC, but Mallet keeps looking better and better on the passing side as well. 15 TDs to 3 picks. 1900 yards pass also.
"Call me crazy, but I want to buy the Dallas Cowboys end zone and have the star right at the foot of my bed. That way when I score, I can spike the ball right on the star!" -Woody Paige, Around the Horn 10.9.08
If I'm an ACC coach and you tell me I need one of the ACC QB's to win a ballgame in the waning minutes, I'm either shooting myself, or gambling and taking Ponder/Harris, hoping that they don't make a crucial mistake. There's no sure-fire winning QB in the conference...there are talented ones, but no sure-fire guys right now. I don't care who's leading the conference in anyone category, you can watch them play and the proof is right in front of your eyes.
I will say this--I don't think he deserves it with 10 INT's already, but Jacory's the only ACC QB on the O'Brien Award watch list at this point in the season. I think that's based off of what he'll become more than what he is at this point...pure speculation.
Oh--and to but $.02 into Lung/Drew's Taylor debate...the reason why a bunch of people were so high on Taylor was because they though (just like Marcus Vick) that he was the next coming of Michael Vick, and the sheer thought of getting a Tidewater QB in that same mold makes VT fans have an orgasmic reaction. But--Taylor nor Marcus haven't even come close to matching what MV1 did in his time at Blacksburg--let's be honest, no QB since him has. It's much the same reason you heard fans pan QB's like Sean Glennon & Bryan Randall when they had down moments--they wanted MV1 back.

I guess he will get the Nobel next year then. couldn't help it you stepped in that one up to your waist.I think that's based off of what he'll become more than what he is at this point...pure speculation.
