    Re: Bcs

the SEC may be the best conference in the nation top to bottom....that was NEVER my argument...my argument has been that the SEC isn't on a different level than everyone else, and the ACC isn't a bottom tier conference

you could sit here and do hypotheticals between the SEC and the NFC and come out in favor of the SEC and think you're making a good point...it's a terrible argument

in all reality if you did a conference by conference showdown, there's not a single BCS conference (outside maybe the Big East) that the SEC would actually beat 10-2 or 11-1...that's simply not true

they would probably win the match-ups, but it'd be like 7-5, 6-6, 8-4...it's very easy to say that a healthy Drew Weatherford and FSU could beat Arkansas...and the argument that since LSU beat Miami really bad 5 years ago is grounds to think they'd do it again is just dumb, Miami could very well win that game depending on which team (both ways) showed up

and I wouldn't mind one bit for VT to play Bama again with our offense being much better than it was early in the season and with Bama's LB out...VT may not win but it'd be another good game and you can't say unequivocally that Bama would win the game...and for that matter you can't say any of the 12 teams would win a game if they played each other again

2 years ago if I came on here and said Appy State would beat Michigan, then I would get laughed at...there's not a lot of teams where you can say that this team would definitely beat that team

you could certainly say UF and Bama would beat most, if not all of the ACC, but outside of those two you can't say the same for any other team, so to be able to say that Team A (SEC) would definitely beat Team B (ACC) is a terrible argument

    Re: Bcs

haha shows you how much attention you pay.

    who is FSU's starting QB?

    its sure not Drew Weatherford.

now lets go to VT and Alabama.

what makes you think there would be any difference in the game??
sure Bama has a LB out, but it was our first game as well, and the defense is playing better than ever.
I can say, without a doubt, VT would NOT beat Alabama.
for you to think any different at all is being nothing more than a bias Homer who knows nothing.

and you are right, nothing is definite, but you are acting like there is this great amount of parity everywhere.
    theres not.

you keep saying you cant know for sure what teams would win, then how do you know the SEC wouldnt beat the ACC 10-2??????????? HUH?????? EXPLAIN

and saying FSU, who BARELY beat Maryland with 36 seconds left could beat Arkansas shows you have no idea what you are talking about.

    no, its not

you try to have it both ways

you say you cant know for sure what teams would beat other teams, then you say you know the SEC would not beat another conference 10 games to 2.

which way is it GCDevil??? Is it only you can tell what teams would beat the others?

so you can say without a doubt a team that was leading yours going into the 4th quarter that there is no doubt in your mind that you'd win again...and that doesn't mean you're a homer??

    Re: Bcs

have you watched the teams play??

you say yourself VT is a better team, yet you dont think Alabama is any better???

Alabama was starting a QB who had no college experience, yet VT is the team that has improved by leaps and bounds?

you are impossible, im done with this, its obvious you are trying to make the ACC look good without any basis at all

youre right...you cant say it either way...you begged me to come up with a scenario and I did, and then you finally admit that you can't play hypotheticals...because it's HYPOTHETICAL

    Re: Bcs

ok, now you admit you are trying to play both sides.

theres a thing called analysis and predictions, its not shallow hypothetical situations.

When I say the SEC would win 8-9 games against the ACC, its beacuse ive saw all the SEC teams play, all the ACC teams play, and saw them against OOC opponents.

So you are saying we cant say Florida would beat Duke because its only hypothetical?

    Re: Bcs

other than the basis of the conference with the most teams in the top 25

and sure, I think Alabama is better than they were, they should be...but it's not as if they grew exponentially while VT only grew a little, it was a tough game with a couple plays making the difference...if in game 2 those plays go VT's way they would win the game, you can't deny that...but it's all hypothetical

oh good lord...let's break this down

I say you can't play hypotheticals, you beg me to play hypotheticals, I finally play hypotheticals, you say now I'm playing both sides....that's comical

and I said in an earlier post...it's clearly there...that we could say that Alabama and UF have a good shot at beating every ACC team...Duke is in the ACC, so I'd say I included them in that assessment
