Should be a great game. PV has a very good team.
"They (Miami) told me I wasn't big enough to play running back,'' said Ryan Williams with a snicker. "And they tried to offer me as an athlete or wide receiver."

Right now I would say toss up. Will come down to turnovers and foul shots.

Appy rolls, 75-60. Appy is entirely to quick and a much quicker team than pv. Basically pv only has an advantage in the post which i think appy can contain. Forest will be a major match-up problem for pv as well.

PV's defense has been pretty stout for most of the season. I agree we haven't seen a player like Stuart, however only once this season I have left a game dissapointed in our defensive effort and that was the first Gate City game. It's pretty much the same players from last year, minus Marvin and Jordan, which is why I'm surprised people are predicting such a spread. I very well could be wrong, but I think it will be a hard fought low scoring affair.

Appalachia hasn't lost because they haven't played any competition. PV will challenge them.

Don't know how you get that. We won at PV, they won at GC. Both times without Smith playing for GC. GC is a different team with Smith in the lineup.

Re: Big Night for LPD Hoops on Friday

From what I've seen of PV and Appy this year, I haven't been greatly impressed with either team. But, this is probably as good as it will get for LPD basketball this year.

Neither team has played any really good teams this year, so records are a bit misleading. Appy's strentgh is definitely Stuart, and their weakness is depth. The German kid is a big kid, but doesn't really have a lot of skill or athleticism.

Offensively, I think PV and Appy are pretty evenly matched. I won't be surprised at all to see PV and Appy split games this season and be playing again in the district championship.

Appy gon roll PV right?? hahahaha

    PV-54
    Appy-45

I think, but PV won by around 9.

PV and Appy are good cvc, i dont understand how you can say otherwise.
maybe they arent as good as some of the bigger schools in more populated areas, but for this area, both of those teams are excellent.

pv has two GREAT wins, @GC and @Appalachia

I'm not surprised by the outcome. As I said, I think they are pretty evenly matched.

I'm not saying that the teams aren't good. They are the best of the LPD. But, the LPD isn't exactly the top tier of basketball in this area. Either of these teams could be playing for or winning the Region D championship in their division. Beyond that, it's a whole different ballgame.
