ID, do you honestly think any other team has a shot at winning the LPD outside of Appalachia and PV??

To be brutally honest it isn't going to matter come up the road state time. PV and Appy are by far the best two teams in a very mediocre basketball distric. Folks get mad at me when I say that, but here we are in 2010 and the 1974 PV Vikings remain the last state champ the LPD has seen in boys basketball (girls being a different story with JJK,Appy,Clintwood, and Pound winning state). Don't get me wrong though friends: I would LOVE to see an LPD boys team win it,it would be the happiest crow-eating ever, but alas I am a realist, and can't see it happening. Prove me wrong guys-ANYBODY PV,Appy...whoever. To answer your initial question though: No I don't see anybody winning the LPD but PV or Appy, but having said that,an off-night can result in a loss nonetheless, and I wouldn't be shocked if nobody were unbeaten in distric play.

I didnt say undefeated, and I didnt ask about state chances, I asked if any team besides the two aforementioned teams had a shot at the LPD title.

and how do you know neither one of those teams can compete upstate?
Didnt Appy make the Final Four last year??

Tell you what Biggin, let's revisit this thread after state, and I promise you, give you my word as a man,I will gladly eat crow and i'll do you guys one better: I'll hang a Viking basketball avatar up and buy you and pvfan both a steak dinner. If I am right however,i'll say in advance that I despise steak, but do love the Especial Little Mexico. Any takers? Last year wasn't considered the strongest year the state had seen no doubt, and I heard alot of folk say that the road to the Final 4 wasn't too rough (wasn't shocked to see Appy there) I didn't talk about "competing". I talked about hoisting the hardware

    Re: What happened tonight?

I never once said PV nor Appy would win state, nothing of the sort.

but I do find it funny that Appy made the Final Four last year, but suddenly they have no shot at winning up-state.

It's not overly hard to make the Final 4 when our regions are down man.

Got your PM CVC, but it said your box was full and I couldn't reply. But no, not surprised the least bit now that I know who the players from our side were, both trouble from day one IMO.

    Re: What happened tonight?

the Final Four is not just region D

its a freaking great accomplishment to make the Final Four, much less win the Region.

i dont understand why its out of the realm of possiblity that Appalachia could get really hot at the end of the year, and make a lotta noise upstate.

great defense and ball control can win big ballgames.

you dont have to run 5 guys over 6'3 who can jump outta the building to win ballgames

Like I said man,I'd love to be wrong on this, but there's 36 years of history that says I'll be lookng at 37 soon. I really do hope that you are right though Biggin. We are way past due to see gold in boy's b-ball.

It's no accomplishment to win any kind of state title in division 1. Let's go ahead and water it down some more.

Yeah, just emptied my PM box.

Couldn't agree more. It's sad too because the kids are good athletes.
