GC has relied on that principle for years, and it works for them.
to say teh GC press is weak is like saying the Colts Passing Offense is weak, its simply inaccurate.

the press is GC's calling card, thats how they win games, so yeah, they do it pretty **** good

Secondly.."gate city press isn't that great"....you lose all credibility with that statement right there. Gate City presses from the time they are born til the time they graduate. I have no problem admitting they do it to perfection. Substitute nonstop til you wear a team down, and pounce.

"pv really struggled when ky team wentinto press in the second half"....again, the ky team pressed the entire game...pv was up by 22 at one point in the 3rd. Stick got in foul trouble, and it helped them out some. Apparantly you didnt pay attention.

which backs my point, pv only has the 1 ballhandler and would struggle against a good press more than a team that just backs off and plays half court defense. 2nd, appy goes at least 10 deep in every game, and lastly how good can this years version of the gate city press be when they are 5-6

they beat PV and Lebanon, while Appy lost to PV at home, how bout that/

PV doesnt run ten deep, PV only runs 8 deep, 9 maybe.

I thought Appy only had like 10 players on the team, yet they can go 10 deep?

do you know what 10 deep means?

they have 14 players. in most games the entire 2nd 5 have played more minutes than starters... i do know what going 10 deep means and they played 10 against pv.

10 deep means they have 10 players who can play at the same level of the starters, that can sub in and the team not miss a beat, not subsituting the second team because its a blowout

so you are saying Appy has 10 guys that can sub in, and play at the same level of the starting team?

they bring morelock and boyd in to sub for guards -- barker and german kid sabastian for center/forward... usually sub 2 at a time in competitive games...
they don't score as much when subs are in at forward/center position but i think they play better defense when big kid is out. he just doesn't have that agressive nature of defensive side of the ball that is needed. anyway barker, sabastian, boyd, and morelock play significant minutes and play well. so 9 deep consistantly with others playing a fair amount of minutes but not as significant.
