Re: The Official Lets Go Redlegs/Bravos Season Thread

Is the 2010 Braves season going to end like the 1999 Reds season?

In 1999, the Reds had a 2 game lead going into the final weekend. The Reds had to win on Sunday to force a 163rd game with the Mets. Looks like tomorrow should be an exciting day...of BASEBALL!!

If the Padres and Braves win, then the Giants and Padres play on Monday with the loser playing the Braves on Tuesday.

If the Padres and Braves lose, then they play on Monday to determine the wild card.

If the Braves win and Padres lose, then Braves are WC and Giants are NL West champs.

If Padres win and Braves lose, then the Giants and Padres are both in (not sure who wins West and who wins WC) and Braves are out. I think SD wins the West in that scenario!

This will impact the Reds as well. If Braves make the playoffs, then the Reds go to Philly to start. If two teams from the West make it, then the Reds will play the NL West champion with the WC going to Philly.

Yes. Edgardo Alfonso hit a 2-run homer in the top of the first and the Reds never scored.

It was also the same year that Bobby Valentine was ejected during a game in the regular season and came back into the dugout with the glasses/mustache disguise.

The Reds and Mets both won 96 games that year, and the Reds, with those 96 WINS, missed out on the playoffs.
