Went to the Lee/Appy scrimmage last night. They are about the same size-wise and speed is about the same. Lee scored one time on a big play from scrimmage, moved the ball pretty well, mostly by the pass though. They had a couple good runs. Their attitude seems to be the biggest change from years part. They don't look to be just going through the motions, but seem genuinely wanting to win.
Appy has some decent size weight and numbers. I saw about 35 on the sidelines. Stuart looks to be the quarterback this year, adding the threat of a "wildcat" type of offense. Barker looked good at running back. Overall, their offense looked good as they too scored on a long drive. Defense looks to be their achilles heel as the ends and cornerbacks need a lot of work. Decent size, and speed, maybe just needing to tweek a couple things here and there.

Baker is going to be tough on both sides of the ball from what I saw, he did really good when they had him at LB too. Donald Davis is going to be a handful on the line, hes the kid who went to state in wrestling a couple years ago and hes hit the weights pretty hard this year from what Ive seen.

Yep, that was the problem, I was also wearing tennis shoes and PV pants out there, but we've got gear on the way in Appy colors from what I've heard, and before I forget , do I know you in any way? The "watermelon head" thing is kind of an inside joke.
Agree with you centennialdawg. Lee looked better than I have seen in a long while, not only on the field but especially in their attitude. I think a lot of that has to do with the new coach and the assistants who are "hands on" coaches. They need to be more physical, which will come in time.
Appy looked to have good size. Stuart is going to be a threat, especially if he runs. The Davis kid looked tough, at times Lee had to double up on him. The only problem I see on that issue is that he is going to wear down fast playing offense and defense on every play.
The one thing I really didn't like about either offense was the way both quarterbacks "crouched" behind center. It does not allow them to see changes in the defensive schemes.
You can see plenty like that (if they are positioned like I expect). Get your presnap read before going into the crouch and you will still see movement by any defender still.

i dont know if things have changed since i was in school, but we had the same 11 boys playing offense and defense on every play just about every game. scratch that, we had one guy that subbed in and out quite a bit at DE
