With the way you are describing it, I would say no. A player is not a kicker until he is in a kicking movement. Until that point he is a runner. If the punter is in midprocess of the kick, I would say it is, but if the kicker has ball solidly in hand and not in a kicking motion, then no. I would prefer to see film of such a situation to make a definitive account of that specific play.

I haven't been to much since the bro-in-law isn't playing on the HS level anymore. I may try to make it to one of the last couple of Clintwood games, definitely want to attend all the playoff games I can.
I've focused more on my Miami travels this fall, to be honest. I'm standing at .500 (VT, UNC), hopefully will get to .667 when we roll to FSU in a few weeks.
