I disagree. I have related racing to Golf many times. Racing is a sport but the drivers are not athletes. Golf is a sport but golfers are not athletes. both golf and driving a race car requier a ton of concentration and skill (not athetic skill) but so does a sniper or a someone that shoots a bow in a sporting event. Archery is a sport but the people shooting the bow's are not athletes. it takes lots of skill to hit your target and out score your opposition. Same with golf, it takes tons of skill but not much athletic ability. Same with driving a car, takes ton of skill and guts but not athletic abiltiy to drive.
