Union vs. Burton Round IV And Why Both Teams Want to Lose!

Yet another prime example of how stupid this system is. If Union wins and GC loses, they put themselves in a bracket with a CMD school, if they lose they most likely stay with Honaker. Meanwhile, a Burton win would likely throw them into Hurley's bracket (assuming TS beats Casltewood). Obviously, all of this could change depending on who wins and if GC wins Union is locked into number two regardless and if Castlewood beats Twin Spirngs then Norton wants to win. However, if Twin Springs wins, John I. Burton would hurt themselves imo by winning (I don't think they can beat Hurley).

Same thing happened in the old system (2000ish the Winner of the LPD tournament would get bracketed with Council (Fang Thang glory days)) the other bracket was a Much smoother road

The only thing about that is, you had to win the LPD Tournament just to get into the Region D Tournament. Plus, you had an opportunity to win the regular season which would eliminate you from needing to win the tournament.

There are flaws and concerns with every system in sports. People complain regardless.

Being the sports guru you say you are could you tell us if this benefits the rest of the state rather than our small, often forgotten when it comes to vhsl, area?

People begged for a new system (especially in football) for years. Which i agree was not the best system we could have used. However once change has came the same people complain. The old system(in basketball, baseball, etc,.) was more fun and guess what, a team that got hot late could run the table in the district tourney and then make it to regions and get blown out. Logic to this was that team deserved to be in regions however people complain that better teams are sitting at home sue to luck.

To sum it all up no system is perfect.

Each region comes up with its own qualification plan for regional basketball. We screwed ourselves.

So our Region is the only region doing the point system?

Each region has a different point system. Region C for instance doesn't allow everybody to get in.
