As much turnover as I have heard Sykes has, it still looks like they would try to keep an employee after they spend all the money to train them.

Dude, that's one employee. Think of it this way--if they have one or two employees wash out after a short period of time, what do they do? They make the others work harder and pick up the slack, and don't pay them any better to do so. If you're doing thousands of dollars (or more) in business per day, then losing one or two employees here and there doesn't mean that much in terms of hit to the bottom line. It's negligible. Just make everyone else work harder and keep their salaries or hourly pay the same. The people on the phones and doing the work don't have the bargaining power to go up to the boss and say "So...I hear we lost a few trainees. Well, I'll do the work they were going to do, for a little extra on pay day. What do ya say?". That's never happened--delegation of power is a crazy, yet beautiful thing.

Simple economics man.

I'll jump in on that agreement with Sykes and Telemed....both are the bottom feeders in the call center industry.

I never worked at Sykes (thank God) but I've had plenty of friends who have, and they HATE it there. TeleMed, or as I call it, Hell-emed, is horrible too...it's just there to make Betty Neisler more money so she can buy more private islands off of the coast of Florida. Virtus is following right in their footsteps...I've never seen a place so mismanaged--monkeys humping a football doesn't even begin to describe how bad it is.

if it aint a monkey, its usually a pill whore taking the place of a monkey lol. Ive never seen so many druggies in my life at these places....the new call center in lee county will fit the mode well.
