Yeah take the side of the ones shutting down Napster and I'll learn to despise you. The only ones who really were hurt by Napster was the executives who just couldn't live on 25 million a year.

    or tha guy from Metallica.

Then Napster sold out and started selling music again.

Napster really helped out up and coming artist, because instead of wastin 15 bucks on a new cd just to see if you liked an artist's style you could just download one of his songs. if you liked it, then you went out and bought the entire cd. if anything i think it helped line the pockets of musicans.

    Re: Myspace.com

The artists who were putting out good music or at least 'appealing' music benefited. The most readily found, easily downloadble things I found back then was say N'Sync's POP or Backstreet Boys or Spears, you know the ones that set sales records.

Sure there was plenty of people who never would buy a cd if they could download it, no question, but you also could hit people who would buy that you would never have gotten before. There was a trade-off. Honestly it probably should be done in an Itunes way, should have before it got to the point, the industry just ignored things, till they had to fix it.

    Re: Myspace.com

Agreed, it sucks that they took down Napster like that... now it's no better than the goofy iTunes crap.

    I just stick to Limewire.

You can drop an application like it's an actual object?
