    I have the cheapest version of the Nook. wifi only. No backlight. I like it quite a bit although I was sad when the full color nook came out just a few months later. It would be nice to have that version so I could get my national geographic subscription on it.

    And as for battery life, mine lasts for weeks, not 8 hours as mentioned in another post.
    You'll shoot your eye out.

    One think to consider is that ebooks that you can now check out via the Liberarys are not supported on the Kendel so for me that is a BIG plus for a Nook

    I have a good friend that has been an avid reader for ever and ever. She bought a Nook.. I don't know the details of the one she bought,, but she says she loves it and can read in bed w/o disturbing her hubby.. ha,, I can't keep up with all the books she tells me she reads.. she is just a bibliophile !!!
