    Re: New School Survey

I thought about going with Gladeville, but thought since I had chose two names for the others, I went with North Fork as a nod to the North Fork of the Pound river, and it being the northern school of the county.

If you go with Gladeville, you put off the folks from Pound as Gladeville is the former name of the town of Wise. If you go with North Fork, that will not jive with the folks from Wise because of North Fork's affiliation with Pound and its river. Tweak it a bit and call it the North Point High School Highlanders and you have a winner Set the colors as red/gray like UVA-Wise

That was my thinking on the colors. I was thinking of the districts when thinking of Gladeville but I just like the sound of that.

The districts are Gladeville (Wise), Roberson (Pound), Lipps (Coeburn), and Richmond (BSG and Appy). The only one I liked was Gladeville.

    Re: New School Survey

I submotted my choices yesterday. Completely disregarded the rules, though, because my ideas saves a bunch of money, greatly minimizes the upcoming "who's that" confusion, AND continues the history of the "former" schools (which is why it has ZERO chance of being used) ...

Powell Valley Bulldogs - red & gold
JJ Kelly Wildcats - black & white
Coeburn Deacons - silver & purple

For Appy i really like (Stone Gap Stallions)
Wise/Pound and Coeburn/StPaul nothing jumps out at me

On a side note DC had there Last round of voting for mascot and colors and word is WolfPack won by a large margin with the colors being Black/(Silver?)/Teal(sp?)

The SB will need to approve it but I can't imagine that they will not

just call them the Indian Creek Young Guns. instead of just one guy out in a cowboy outfit and logo on the helmet you could have multiple guys on the sidelines dressed up in old west garb and the logo could be a shadow of about 5 cowboys on the helmet. could relate the strength in numbers concept, a team working together kind of deal.
something like this could be the logo but of course more representing cowboys, not musicians
