If Norton became a city to get away from county government, and it's been worth the cost, she must've been around about the time it happened.. right?

She is 40, so she is getting her info from research at the Wise County Library from articles in the Coalfield and speaking with citizens like Judge Stump who was in school at the time it happened.

Wiki says Norton was founded n 1894, but I didn't think about the secession happening until later until just now.
Found it on Facebook - 1954.
Glad there's still ppl. around that were a part of it / there when it happened. Might make the decision harder, but the arguments will be stronger.

Yea my Father was in his soph year when they got city charter and talked more about it now than he ever did in the past. People in their 70's were in high school or college when it happened.
