Yes, that Hoover that was a staple of downtown Norton for years and years. Had family here today and in conversation about this and that Hoover came up. It had been years since I've even heard him mentioned.

Wow...that is a blast from the past. Whatever happened to him?

didn't they find him dead in a motel room in Norton a few years ago?

I believe he was found in the basement of the old telephone building.

When he was a young man he was huge, later years he lost much weight and begin to slump.

He once cut my father with a straight razor. Dad was a career police officer and they had an altercation. Dad broke a wooden, lead weighted nightstick over his head, he went down but stayed conscious. I can remember dad coming home with either two or three long cuts in his uniform shirt and the wounds underneath. They weren't very deep though.

Hoover Mitchell was his name.

There was some connection to the Telephone building. Maybe he had been staying there and was run off?

I remember a connection though. Even saw him coming out of there myself at least once.
