(CNN) -- A sailor killed in Afghanistan on Saturday was the 500th U.S. service member to die in that country since the war there began in 2001.
Petty Officer 1st Class Joshua Harris of Lexington, North Carolina, was 36.
Twenty-two U.S. service members were killed in Afghanistan in August, part of a recent increase in American deaths there. In June, 28 U.S. service members died in Afghanistan -- the United States' highest one-month total in that country.
Including deaths from the United States' coalition partners, 46 service members were killed in August, equaling the coalition total for June. Forty-six is the highest one-month total for coalition forces.
But Afghan and coalition forces killed more than four times as many insurgents -- 220 -- in one week last month in southern Afghanistan, the U.S. coalition said.
The battles occurred in Helmand province from August 25 through Saturday, the coalition said. The battles also led to the discovery of weapons caches.

Wtf? You can keep comments like that to yourself, moron.
Why can't you address the issue? I realize that is a rhetorical question (get your dictionary and look that one up - I know your pea brain can't comprehend it). And no, I'm not a moron - my IQ is 150+.
As for basic conversation, when you paste a comment on here, it makes sense to convey why you disagree or agree with it. It's called logic. Any rational person can read your post and interpret in 2 different ways. I was merely asking what you intended the post to say. Paragraph 5 in your post refutes the preceeding 4 statements - depends on the reader's understanding.
I just took it as a "who gives a damn?" comment. I made the thread letting ppl know about the 500th death in Afghanistan or the "Real War".
Well you need to read what you post, and make sure it agrees with your sterotypical bullshit. So what does the 500th death in Afganistan really mean? In your opinion? Not much of a price to pay for the cosr of freedom.
Stereotypical bullshit? not following that....
Not much of a price to pay? And you say youre smart. Tell that to just one of those 500 families, I support this war but every life that is lost is still terrible. But still, 500 compared to the 4000 + in Iraq is disgusting. Damn shame.

So are you saying there should be more deaths in Afghan? Or would a lower death toll in Afghan to the same number in Iraq be an even bigger shame?

I think that more troops in Afghan and there should be NO deaths in Iraq since we shouldnt be there in the first place. I wouldnt be disgusted if there were 4000 in Afghan (not saying it isnt bad, its terrible) because its a righteous war and an actual cause.
Keep digging...
