Bush or any other President can't help it if the people of New Orleans ignored warnings to leave well before the storm hit. You can't help people who are plain stupid! There have been people blame Bush for the hurricane. Did you (R13) watch the today show about 6 to 8 months after Hurricane Katrina hit? There were morons on there saying they saw the government bomb the levees. I saw a girl here at college during freshman year wearing a shirt saying "Wanted for Mass Murder: The Bush Administration (then on the back) Hurricane Katrina, 9/11, etc."

Well his lack of action is responsible for a lot of deaths, so its not that far of a stretch.

Yep, even Mayor Ray said as much. IMO, you build below sea level, you pay the price. You build on an exposed slope in Cal., and erosion washes you into the Pacific, you pay the price. The government owes it to noone to bail them out of stupid decisions.

its an american city that experiences a natural disaster
the government should, x that HAS TO help out when american people are dying.


FEMA is the one to truly blame
but with maybe more presidential push they woulda got their act together a lil bit faster.

What constitutional component states that the federal government is required to provide for such? I'm not saying that the feds shouldn't, but where is the constitutional right? Not being argumentative, merely would like to know. The feds, since Truman, have tried to replace the church's benevolence. Not their role, IMO.

the constitution didnt adress natural disasters, because, and im just guessing here, that it was understood that the government would help take care of them.


cmon, you can do better than that.

When innocent americans are being killed by a natural disaster, the government should be the first in line to help out in any way possible.

saving lives is more important than the constitution, the church, etc....
