Fact is, we tend to demonize when it is not appropriate to demonize. Something in our society has caused us to greatly exaggerate the facts about people we don't care for, especially those in power.

Fact is, George W. Bush is probably a whole lot smarter than most of the posters on this board, and by that I mean 99 percent or better of us, and he is better informed than any of us.

Has he done a good job? No.

Has the situation been difficult for him? Yes.

Is Obama going to step in a save the country? No.

That's going to require more than just a president willing to change direction. At this point we are in a huge hole that has taken us several decades to dig. We are not going to dig out of it next year regardless of how good or how poor of a job Obama does as president.

Something to keep in mind is that when we use hate-filled and absurd rhetoric against those we disagree with we can rest assured that the level from opposing view will escalate as well.

We have met the enemy and he is us......

    Re: More governmental black eyes

Jackson has been fighting for his reputation since the federal complaint revealed his supporters were willing to raise money for the governor, if Jackson was appointed to the Senate.

The new information appears to support Jackson's claim that he was not involved in a scheme to buy a U.S. Senate seat.

ABC7 has learned that since late last summer, the congressman has worked with federal prosecutors, informing on an alleged Blagojevich administration scheme two and half years earlier.

    ...

And sources tell ABC7 that Jackson has been in regular contact with the feds and has told the government that in 2003 Blagojevich denied the congressman's wife Sandi an appointment as Illinois lottery director because Jackson would not donate $25,000 to the governor's campaign fund.

Hours before Blagojevich and his chief of staff John Harris were arrested, Jackson says prosecutors gave him a 'courtesy call' to let him know he was mentioned in the criminal complaint.
