    Re: Tell me...

No one is bashing... we are seeking some information but you are not giving any.... Tell us why you beleive what you do. The Pope is not the anointed one.. Jesus is... the pope is not our go between guy, Jesus is... their is not a purgatory... it is either heaven or hell....These are false teachings according not to my opnion but according to the Bible. But you know they are not the only ones... just about every denomination does this in some form or fashion... even the one that I attend... what I am saying is be careful that you are not decieved... know what the Bile says... read it for yourself.

    Southern Baptist

    1. One God, one Faith, one Baptism
    2. The Bible: is a God-breathed work that is absolutely true
    3. We believe in the Holy Trinity: God represented in three distinct characteristics; God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit
    4. A profession of faith in Jesus Christ as God's Son, who was immaculately conceived of the Holy Spirit, lived on the earth fully as a man while still being fully God, who gave His life and took it up again on the third day, is the ONLY means by which we can be saved.

    5. There are only two church ordinances:
    a. Baptism after a profession of faith
    1. Baptism is not essential to Salvation
    2. Baptism is essential to church membership
    b. Communion (commonly referred to as "The Lord's Supper"

    6. Salvation is eternal (Once saved, always saved)
    7. We believe in the Great Commission (Matt. 28: 19-20) and are heavily involved in supporting missions both at home and abroad.

I attend a Southern Baptist church because I feel it follows the Scriptures more closely than any other denomination I've encountered. Growing up, I attended Baptist, Methodist, Pentacostal, Church of God, Church of Christ, Catholic, and community churches. I guess you can say I was exposed to a broad and interpretive field of believers.
One of the most important decisions we make after our salvation experience is where to attend church. This is something that shouldn't be approached haphazardly, but with prayer and contemplation. Know where God wants you to serve and then get after it!
"Yes, there are two paths you can go by
    But in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on."

    Re: Tell me...

Haven't read it all, but this is a discussion forum, and its definitely possible that someone will discuss/disagree with someone. Lets try to be respectful guys
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.
