CAN'T SPEAK TOO HIGHLY ABOUT JIM SHERIDAN'S NEW FILM "IN AMERICA", , , THRILLING, MOVING, MARVELOUS PERFORMANCES - - BY ALL THE ACTORS- - UNBELIEVABLY ASTONISHING ARE THE TWO CHILDREN PLAYING THE DAUGHTERS
(THE BOLGER SISTERS)-- AGES SIX & MAYBE NINE - - KNOCKED ME FOR A LOOP! ACADEMY NOMINATIONS ARE IN ORDER FOR THEM. IRISH IMMIGRANTS IN SUCH A WIDE VARIETY OF TERRIFIC
SCENES. . . .SEE IT ! IT'S JIM SHERIDAN'S PERSONAL STORY EVIDENTLY. A GREAT TIME AT THE MOVIES IN SO MANY APPEALING WAYS

I've rarely seen such high ratings at RottenTomatoes; 88% pro! [img]tongue.gif[/img]
Personally, rarely get out to current theatrical releases unless expecting visual effects & eye-candy: LOTR & Matrix & Star Wars & grand spectacle which couldn't translate to a 32" TV screen. But this has such rave reviews from such (usually) cynical bastards, might make it out to the theatre....

I hadn't even heard of the film before Kevin's post...now my interest is piqued.
Reved, hysterical bit on that rotten tomatoes link-
the "CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR" says:
"The story has too many trite moments..."?!!!
