The seven suspects were found and arrested over this weekend. They are: Idelfonzo Mendez, 23, David Rivera, 21, Steven Carballo, 17, Denis Peitars, 17, Nelson Falu, 18, Brian Cepeda, 16 and Bryan Almonte, 17. Police are still looking for Elemer Confessor, 23 and Ruddy Vargas-Perez. The alleged gangsters each face 16 years in jail.

No. We should eliminate the Death Penalty for a better reason:
Over 1000 innocent but wrongly convicted people have been released due to DNA.
Since DNA only impacts a very small % of crimes,
thousands of innocent peoles are in prison -- some on Death Row.
When the (sane) Supreme Court overturned the death penalty in 1973,
there was a 15 yr old boy on Death row in Arkansas --
who had been convicted as an accessory to two men who were acquitted of committing a murder.
(I swear, nobody can make up the true idiocies of our criminal "justice" system!)
Apparently his lawyer had Alzheimer's.
There is no evidence that the death penalty deters anyone.
It may actually endanger any potential witnesses to a homocide
-- which is how the term "as well be hung for a sheep as a goat" comes to mind.

Convicted killer Arnis Zalkalns is the prime suspect in the disappearance of the 14-year-old, who was found dead in the River Brent on Tuesday, following an extensive search.
An area of Boston Manor Park in west London, has been cordoned off.
Zalkalns was filmed cycling along the same route behind Alice on the day she failed to return to her home in Hanwell on 28 August.

Long story short:after the congo gained independence from belgium after WW2,the revolt's leader was killed and dictator Mobutu took control.He managed the country like shit and eventually was overthrown in the first congo war by rebels that were supported by rwanda and burundi.Because he had managed the country so badly he was overthrown really fast.The rebels were of the tutsi ethnic group who hate the hutu because rwandan genocide and eventually a second congo war broke out where a shit ton of various armed groups fought(congo is a REALLY large country with a REALLY weak government and a lot of various tribal divisions etc.) this time with the UN thrown into the mix too.The west is involved because the areas being fought over are rich in rare minerals and as long as the french and the americans etc arm the various rebels they will keep the cheap flow of minerals coming.Now the chinese will probably get involved too,they are the state that invests the most in africa right now.
