In the Comic for Tuesday, April 16th, 2002 Nigel says to flick that he doesn't have wings. What? Several strips ago, Nigel the bat is hanging upside-down with his wings clearly visible.

    Explanation?

    Ah. Well, lesse here...

Nigel wasn't exactly saying he LACKED wings, simply he lacked them as an extra set of appendages. While Flick has his arms, legs, and wings, Nigel has legs, and his wings. His arms are attached, like a bat's, and to actually fly, he has to flap his arms, instead of an individual pair of wings. That's what he meant by the statement - not that he lacked wings, he lacked independantly functioning ones like Flick.

But Flick still can't fly straight when drunk.
