Apparently. My mom just ordered a doll curling iron. It's not here yet, but I'm going to see how it works.

I've also used a hair straightener to cut down on doll frizzies.

And if you want to curl your doll's hair, just get it wet, put the curlers in, and pour boiling water over before you let her dry overnight.

Actually, I have one of those jet air curling irons, remember those from TV?

They use steam instead of heat and you can also use rollers with them. Maybe I can just use that.

Before you all get too hair crazy, please remember the fundamental rule of styling doll hair with heat:

Dry heat = BAAAAD

Wet heat = Good

If you're gonna use a curling iron or some other dry heat device, remember to wet your doll's hair and check it regularly to be sure it's still damp. Melted hair ain't pretty.

Personally, I like to avoid a potential debacle and just use a garment steamer.

I'm with kitschywoman on this one!

Dry heat causes frizzies. In my opinion it's probably the Number One cause of frizzies.

I recommend setting the hair in curlers and then steaming them with an all-plastic steamer, and then maybe leaving the curlers in over-night. But any wet heat will work, including boiling water, as long as you take care to keep any moisture out of the eyes (including steam).

You can check out my "Restoration" album for more information. It's in my Imagestation albums, which are in my signature.

Have fun!

I would like to know too! That sounds great.
ETA: What about one of those little steamers instead of the boiling water?
I use one to clean my rings, etc, seems like it would be less mess. Anyone tried that?
