That is great! I love to sew. It is so relaxing for me. It sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy. I can't wait to see Kit's dress when you are finished.

I have to say I prefer "today's fashions"

All the Jeans in it have some sort of ornamentation (like AG) but it was easy enough to not do that and make plain jeans.

Plus it has a pattern for a killer suede jacket.
These all come from "Today's Fashions"

I have both and love both.

Although I find the pattern's in Today's Fashions more usable.

I have the Contemporary Fashions book, and I really like it. I use it more than any other pattern. I haven't seen the Today book in person, but I'd imagine if I do, I'd want it!
That said, Kit's World is my favorite AG book. I even use it in school, as an introduction to what the Depression looked like through the eyes of a child. It's an introduction to To Kill a Mockingbird, which is set in the Depression and narrated by a little girl.
Can't help you with a decision, but I will say, I don't think you can go wrong with your choice!

Thank you all for your help. After much thought, I went back to Amazon.com to get "Welcome to Kit's World". It was out of stock! Sooo... I went ahead and bought the "Sew Today's Fashions for 18" Dolls" book. I can't wait for the book to arrive.
I will still buy "Welcome to Kit's World" as soon as it is back in stock.
