The Cape Island Dress came with a ribbon and that was all.
When I was at the AG Outlet last week, there were several of Addy's dresses there including the Kite Flying Outfit, Cape Island Outfit and the Striped Dress. Being at the Outlet is a very good sign of retirement or pending retirement. Now the striped dress is on the regular Addy page but at the reduced price of $12. This is a really cute and nicely made dress, so if you want it, I would get it now.
Addy's Striped Dress
I have a question about the Kite Flying outfit. Is the dress the same as the flower picking outfit? Did they just remove the cute kite from that set and rename it?
About the Cape Island dress - did it come with anything besides the plaid ribbon and the dress?
I don't have Addy, but I have recently started admiring her collection and of course, now it seems like things are retiring.

The kite flying outfit is the same as the flower picking one, as far as I can tell. It seems to me that they just substituted the flowers for the kite.

I think the striped dress is nicer in person than online. For $12, it is a real deal.
AG just put the striped dress on the sale page.
Oooh, I love Addy's striped dress. I hope it stays dor a little bit longer. I've spent my spending money alotment for the next little while...
I think there may have been some quality issues with the kite-maybe they were damaged easily or something. They had lots of them at the MCM sale last summer.
What I've always wondered is why it's taken so long for Addy's striped dress and Molly's aviator outfit to sell out in the first place. All of the other first short story outfits, and most of the 2nd short story outfits (including Addy's and Molly's) have been gone for a long time. Both outfits are adorable, so I wonder whether it's that they didn't sell as well, or if some AG employee accidentally added a zero onto their order number (making the orders for those outfits, say, 100,000 instead of 10,000). No matter how many they had made originally, I would think they should be running out sometime soon, especially at the reduced price, so anyone who hasn't gotten them yet and wants to shouldn't wait.
I really like the story of Addy's striped dress -- that it is made from scraps of different types of fabric. I'm sure they had to do that a lot back then to make a complete dress when times were lean.
I just ordered this for my Kirsten. I will let you know how it looks on her!
