I was just looking on the AG website, and I noticed that Molly's Miss Victory Costume has been taken off of the website!

You know, I just got mine in the mail today. I was so excited I was able to get it before it was gone, but then I walked through the front door, and my husband says, "Molly's Miss Victory Outfit is SO CHEESY!" I looked at it, and thought the same thing! The material is stiff polyester, and the star is plasticy. I'll try it on her, and maybe I'll like it better? I hope!

Maybe they'll just be re-introducing it again when the doll comes out. I hope. It would be a shame not to have that outfit available.
I thought the material was pretty darned cheesy too, but it helps to think that the real material an outfit like that would have been made of was probably just as cheesy. I remember the girl's costume looked like it was made with the same stuff (only with a removable skirt!) and it looked really cute. Maybe they'll add something better than an easily-torn cardboard headband.

Trust me, the outfit looks much better on. Yes it does look cheesy initially (I was sort of disappointed when I bought it at first), but Molly does look cute in it. You have to remember, when you had dance costumes as a kid, they were pretty darn cheesy too (at least mine were *shudder*). They were supposed to be flashy and bright. Here is a pic of my PM Molly in her costume:

I used to think it was chessy too. Now I've really grown to love it. Molly is wearing it now - with the red roller skates . I'm not sure what DD was thinking - Figure Skater or Roller Derby .

Looks like that retirement list is right on target. I wonder what's next.

Okay, Molly*Belle717! You've inspired me to get that thing on her! As soon as I quit yaking on this board, I'm off to see what I can make of Molly in her victory costume!

(And yes, I have to agree, childhood costumes were pretty cheesy! One year, my mom made me a grape costume! I have no idea how long it took her to sew about 4 dozen round grapes, LOL! Another year, I was an orange crayola crayon!)

Tee hee . . . Molly does look a bit like Wonder Woman. I think it looks better w/out the crown though, it seems more authentic. I seem to remember her crown being a LOT nicer back in the day when I got most of my other outfits . . . sadly I did not pick up the Miss Victory outfit back then and waited until this year. She still looks cute in it, esp. with her patent leather shoes (from her shoes and socks outfit).
