We are thinking about getting one.Does anyone here have one? What do you think of them?
I am hoping to find a reasonable one for a starter doll for Cass, just to give it a try.
I read some pretty awful reviews about their service on epinions.com I think, but they were a few years old.
I know nothing about these dolls at all, but would like to try one.

I have 4 of them........2 that I use for models, that were purchased on Ebay, and 2 that I had made to look like my children, when they were little. The models get a lot of "play time", and my grandchildren are allowed to play with them when they're here, so they probably get normal play. They've held up quite nicely, and I haven't had any problems with them. The reviews you read were probably written before the company changed hands. The company was sold about 2 years ago.
They had originally gone out of business, just before Christmas 2 years ago, and a lot of people were upset, and didn't get their orders.
The two that I had made to look like my kids, are a boy and a girl. I like to tell people they sit next to each other, on a bench in the guest room, all day, and don't fight, don't pick on each other, and don't touch each other! It's wonderful!

We have them and have for several years. They have had a lot of play and held up just great. I too was frustrated with service a few years back, but have no problems now. That said, we don't order much now either, it's all AG! I would recommend you try and find a poseable doll. Some actually aren't. If Cass has as much imagination as most little gals, you can pose these dolls in about every position possible. Our dolls still have tight limbs and we've had all the clothes wear nicely too. We did find a few shoes that didn't fit well, mostly clogs, but not so terrible that they had to be sent back. I do know that several years back the poseable and non-poseable doll shoes were different sizes. Thinking they solved this problem somewhere along the way. Good luck finding what you want and have fun. ~Bugs
(edited to say- Guess we were typing at the same time. Glad you found what you wanted. )

My dd got one from my mom when she was 5 1/2. She loved the idea of a doll looking like her. She had never liked doll's at all so my mom insisted on getting her one even if it just sat on her bed & was never played it. My dd liked it but wasn't sure what to do with it. She looks a bit like dd, but older. She never played "baby" & the doll was too old for that anyhow. She has, sadly, just sat around for the most part. One of her drawbacks was her size. 23" is HUGE for a 5 year old to drag around, so dd gave up trying. They have beautiful clothes & are gorgeous dolls, so no complaints in those areas. The only downside was the size. DD has since figured out how to play w/ dolls & adores her AG's. Anna (the Twinn) gets pulled out occassionally to join in the games. Most of this won't apply since your dd is older AND already loves dolls, but thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. Can't wait to see pics.

They make great big sisters to the AG dolls.
I have bought 3 from the My Twinn Friends pages. They are much cheaper than ordering one special made and it is nice to see the finished product. There is usually lots of dolls to choose from and you can often find one that resembles someone you know.
I did. My sister died when my niece was four. One of the My Twinns that I bought looks a lot like my sister. My niece was so happy and adores her new doll.
I finally signed up to get emails and the specials are great. Just last week, I bought a few outfits for my niece's birthday from the new spring line. They were 25% off. I had a free shipping code too, but it wouldn't work online. I called them the next day and they are now sending me a credit. This week they are having a clearance sale and since some of our favorite outfits were featured (like the kahki jumper) I did my Christmas shopping. : )
Just a note of warning: The specials don't always last long and the clearance items sell out fast. You generally need to place your order within a day or two of getting notice of the sale.
One more note: The dolls don't usually come with underwear and their bodies snag pretty easy. I would suggest you order a set of underwear to help protect the doll from the dreaded velcro.

Thanks everyone!!!!!
I did get an email with the specials and ordered some clothes, but didn't have a free shipping code . Then I got another email today and ordered a few more clothes that were added to the sale, so I am paying shipping twice.
I know what you mean about selling out quick, I was just looking at that gerber daisy shirt last night(before it got marked down) and the second I got the email I went to the site, was thrilled to see the shirt on the sale list, but it was already sold out!!!!!!!
Mary Carly was your free shipping for $50 or more or any amount?
I just played around and tried to use it and it wouldn't work online for me either.
Of course the orders I place were for $43 and $37, bummer!!!!!!!!
That is so sweet about your niece. What a special doll.
Thanks for the advice on the snagging I will have to pick up some undies.
