Is it hard to get a job at AGP??

I used to do seasonal retail for Bath & Body Works when I needed less sleep than I do now.

My vision of h*ll on earth now involves manning a cash register with a line that goes across the entire store while listening to the same canned Christmas music over and over and over. [img]graemlins/whatever.gif[/img]

Oh, and I did stock, so I had to re-stock the bare shelves once the customers left (sometimes as late as 11 PM). [img]graemlins/cry.gif[/img]

Besides just working in DL and DW there is Disney jobs in every state, every city-town. I'm a BVHE (Disney) Movie Specialist and my territory start where I live up to 60 miles away. There are many of us in the same cities each having different chains (stores), mine are Osco-Jewels, Kmarts, Sears, Shopkos and Highlanders. Whereas the others have Toys-r-us, Best Buy, and so on where ever movies are sold.

I'm sure you might of seen us in the stores (all stores who carry movies) we are the ones wearing a blue shirt that says "Bring Home the Magic" making sure the new releases are out on the floors on release day (Tuesday), and during other days of the week stocking the backstock out or ordering movies the store is low or out of with our little laptops 10" by 8".

Retail is a good start to learn to deal with all types of people.

As for a job at AG you'll have a better chance if you take a job interview class. Most colleges and state unemployments offices offer these for free. It will teach you how to make your application stand out to be interviewed and how to interview to land the job.

I actually came to a job fair at AGPC a couple years back, I think in May. The line of mostly young people was around the block! It took hours just to get inside the store!

You had to go through one person after the next, kind of like when you pass one level you would pass on to the next and the next. I made it through 4 interviews. However, they often want people with unlimited availability which I just did not have, which included Friday nights, which for me I don't work on because I like to go Shabbat services. They look for people to work in the cafe, doll hair salon, and of course cashiers and customer service.

I thought I had an advantage because I had 5 years history working in retail, was a Chicago native and I knew extensively about their products. But after going though 4 intervierws and even when I called back a couple days later they didn't want me. [img]frown.gif[/img] But I thought about what I went through and what their demands were and I thought even though it would be AG maybe I wouldn't be happy there and it would be too demanding for me.

Hello. If you cannot find a suitable job that you would like. For example, it may be a more modern work and not the one to which we are all accustomed. Now is the era of the development of computer technology and we need to strive for higher and not remain somewhere behind progress.
